Sgt. Jan Pietrzak and wife Quiana murdered

A young sergeant may have been killed by some of his men.
Pietrzak, 24, was murdered execution-style alongside his young new bride, Quiana Jenkins-Pietrzak, in their California home near Camp Pendleton and police believe the killer was a fellow Marine.
Though court reports point to one shooter, four Marines have been charged in the double homicide -- two of whom were under Pietrzak's command.
Robbery was reportedly the motive for the crime.
"To burglarize their home and then to treat them in the way they did before they died and to murder them -- it's hard for our minds to comprehend this kind of savagery," District Attorney Rod Pacheco told "Good Morning America."
According to court papers, the three other suspects named 18-year-old Lance Cpl. Emrys John as the shooter.
All four said that 26-year-old Jenkins-Pietrzak was sexually assaulted, but each suspect said the other three did it. Lance Cpl. Kesaun Sykes, 21, reportedly confessed to cutting off her clothes. A fire was set in the home, apparently to destroy evidence of the crime.

Hard -Hit 2/7 returns home from Afganistan

Members of 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, will return to the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center at Twentynine Palms, Calif., said Maj. Kelly Frushour, a Marine spokeswoman in Afghanistan. Advance parties of Marines with the 1,000-strong battalion began arriving in California the week of Oct. 27, with most of the battalion arriving next month, said Mike Alvarez, a spokesman at Twentynine Palms. At least 16 Marines and a Navy corpsman with the battalion were killed during a five-month period of the deployment that ended Oct. 31. The unit provided security, launched outreach efforts and helped train more than 800 Afghan police officers in southern Afghanistan, Marine officials said. A special-purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force comprising units from North Carolina, Hawaii and California is expected to replace 2/7 and handle many of the same duties, Frushour said. Like 2/7, it will operate out of Camp Bastion, a British base in Helmand province. Marines with 2/7 handled operations in the Helmand districts of Sangin, Gereskh, Musa Qaleh and Now Zad, and the Farah province districts of Delaram, Golestan, Bakwa and Bala Baluk, Frushour said. Afghan forces and International Security Assistance Forces commanded by Army Gen. Robert Cone have since taken over Sangin, Gereskh and Bala Baluk, Marine officials said. In an e-mail to Marine Corps Times, battalion commander Lt. Col. Richard Hall said that in three districts designated the most dangerous, 2/7 used In-District Reform, a program through which Marines patrol the region and provide security while police recruits attend an eight-week boot-camp-style training program. In the other five districts, the battalion used the Focused District Development program, with Marines training police recruits while a smaller, more highly trained Afghan police force — the Afghan National Civil Order Police — handled regional security. The mission spread 2/7's Marines over 10,000 square miles, Hall said, leaving some platoons to fight off ambushes more than eight hours away from Camp Bastion. "Certainly, the tyranny of distance is problematic at times, but nothing insurmountable, " Hall said. The election of Obama as President of the United States will mark the apex, and beginning downslide of this Republic. The only question is the rate at which the downfall will occur. He won he Academy Award for Schindler' s List. Jerry is one of the very few clear thinking conservatives that I know from Hollywood . Nor do people realize that it was the Dem's that created the failed policies of the many entitlement programs that are falling apart right before our eyes. Please do not think I find the Republicans blameless in all this. They too, suffer from ego inflation and greed motivators built into the system. It's just that the past few months I've listened to the rantings and railings of the left in America calling for more giveaways and better ways to obtain the proverbial 'free lunch'. I think that to sum up my feelings and why I am so set apart from those within the circles of political power and influence can be illustrated best by a quote by noted basketball legend and talk show co-host Charles Barkley: 'Poor people have been voting for Democrats for the last fifty years...and they are still poor'. And now with the election results comes the promises of 'change'. 'Change we can believe in.' 'Change for the future'. When in fact if you really, I mean REALLY listen to what the new MESSIAH is asking for is not 'change of policy' or 'change for the better'. He is warning all of us that he wants our change all right, 'loose change', pocket change', social change and political change...... So people wake up. For if you don't the change you get may not be the change you were expecting or the change you wanted. To close my screed, I want to leave you with some JM predictions in the event the junior Senator from Illinois becomes President and especially if the House and Senate are veto proof. 1). Strict new gun laws will be enacted even though he promised he would not. 2). The phrase 'In God We Trust' will be removed from all currency. 3). He will back away from his pledge to Israel and leave them to the wolves of Islam. 4). Hillary Clinton will be named to the Supreme Court. 5). Tax rates will return to their highest levels in 30 years. 6). The capital gains tax will be at least double current levels. 7). Retired Army General Wesley Clark will be named Secretary of Defense. 8). The borders will be 'basically open' to all comers. Especially those from the Middle East and South America .. 9). Amnesty will be granted to all illegals now in the U.S regardless of status or even gang members (MS-13). and 10). The war in Iraq will be brought to an abrupt end and the results will be tragic and the consequences to our military will be devastating. I realize that my predictions may not sit too well with some people and the best we could all hope for is that I am totally wrong. Any bets? Jerry Molen

Putting on the ARMOUR Of GOD



“We never take the armor off, but this step means renewing our commitment to wearing that armor. Thus daily . . . we fasten Truth around our loins, tie the Preparation of the Gospel of Peace on our feet; buckle Jesus’ Righteousness around our chest; place the Helmet of Salvation on our heads; take the Shield of Faith on our left arms; unsheathe the Word of God as our sword, and stand before God ready to do prayer battle. How often? I usually put on the armor of God each morning in my devotional time. But, when I face a special prayer battle, I often say: “Father, I renew my wearing of Your armor fully right now, so that I may have full protection against the enemy.” As I begin prayer battle, I also affirm, “The Lord Jesus won total victory over the enemy, and I claim that same victory in this battle.”
Paul refers to “spiritual weapons” with which we wage prayer warfare. . . . Here are a few:
· 1. The Blood of the Lamb (Revelation) 12:11).
· 2. The Word of Our Testimony (Revelation 12:10).
· 3. Faith (Hebrews 11:6).
· 4. The Name of Jesus (John 16:23; Philippians 2:9, 10)
Other such weapons include the various kinds of prayer—petition, intercession,
thanksgiving, and praise. . . . I challenge you to search out these and other weapons and learn how to use them in your pray life. . . . These weapons are real, and we can use them in prayer warfare.
Do not neglect the chief weapon—the Word of God. Not only study the Word of God, but also use it continually in every prayer and in every life situation. . . . Study the Bible and speak its words in each crisis you face. Pray God’s Word back to Him. Write His Word down and keep it in front of you at home, in your car, and at work. Do this until using the Word becomes and automatic reflex. This is the key to victory.
Then, having prepared in this way, simply begin personal battle. How Pray . . . pray . . . pray. Pray regularly—pray earnestly.”

Growing up in Texas, Matthew R. Vandegrift was the kid in the middle of the rock fight, the one who dropped a cat out a second-story window to see if it really would land on its feet, and the one who put the emergency brake on a car that was rolling down a hill after he saw it in a James Bond movie.
“He was never the guy to start the fight,” said his brother, Barrett. “But he was always the one to finish it.”
Vandegrift, 28, of Littleton, Colo., died April 21 from wounds sustained during combat in Basra. He was a 2003 graduate of Texas A&M, where he was part of the school’s Midshipmen Battalion NROTC program, and was assigned to Camp Lejeune.
Vandegrift fulfilled a lifelong desire to serve his country and to follow in the footsteps of his father, who served in the Marine Corps from 1963 to 1971. “That boy thought I hung the moon,” said his father, John Vandegrift. “It’s the proudest thing I can claim.”
Mary Jane Vandegrift described her son as a charismatic child who grew into a caring man, someone who was determined to better the lives of those around him.
“He was the perfect kid,” she said. “One in a million.”

Jays father and I are friends and have been since he was a teenager. Jay came home from Iraq and died in a hospital in California. He was hurt in Iraq and was never able to get over it.

Honoring our Hero
On 11/22/2006 our lives came to a screeching halt. On that day we were notified that our son, Pvt. Heath D. Warner had been killed by a roadside IED (improvised explosive device) in the Al An bar province in Iraq. That was the saddest day of our lives and has forever changed our family. Heath believed in the mission he was fighting in. He told us before he left for Iraq that he was going over there to fight so we would not have to fight the terrorist over her. We know that while Heath was on top of his humvee, he was thinking of us, his family, friends and fellow Americans. He died thinking of us and we live thinking of him.

The Price of Independence

THE PRICE OF INDEPENDENCE


Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence? Five signers were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died. Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned. Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army, and another had two sons captured. Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War. They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor. What kind of men were they? Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists. Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and large plantation owners; men of means, well educated. But they signed the Declarations of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured. Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his debts, and died in rags. Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him, and poverty was his reward. Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton. At the battle of Yorktown, Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt. Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed. The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months. John Hart was driven from his wife’s bedside as she was dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his children vanished. A few weeks later he died from exhaustion and a broken heart. Norris and Livingston suffered similar fates. Such were the stories and sacrifices of the American Revolution. These were not wild-eyed, rabble-rousing ruffians. They were soft-spoken men of means and education. They had security, but they valued liberty more. Standing tall and unwavering, they pledged: “For the support of this declaration, with firm reliance on the protection of the divine providence, we mutually pledge to each other, our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.” They gave you and me a free and independent America. They history books never told you a lot of what happened in the Revolutionary War. We didn’t just fight the British, We were British subjects at that time and we fought our own government! Some of us take these liberties so mush for granted… We shouldn’t. Take a moment while enjoying your 4th of July holiday and silently thank these patriots. It’s not much to ask for the price they paid……..

Harry Potter or not?

Harry Potter: Is It Something That Christian Children Should Read and/or See?by Rich Deem
Harry Potter books (and movie) are quite popular now, and even more Harry Potter will be found in all kinds of marketing schemes to profit from this popularity. My objection to the book series is from the point of the worldview represented, and the participation of the "good guys" in occult practices specifically prohibited in the Bible. The following are practices that the Bible forbids believers from engaging in:

The Old Testament describes the punishment, given by God, for those who participate in occult practices. For both the one who practices and the one who hires the one who practices, the penalty is death (Exodus 22:18,1 Micah 5:12,1 Leviticus 20:6,3 Leviticus 20:27,3 1 Chronicles 10:13-14,3), indicating the seriousness of these offenses.
These prohibitions extend to both the Old and New Testaments. Occult practices by believers are condemned by Jesus in the books of Matthew and Mark,12 Paul in the books of Galatians1 and 2 Thessalonians,12 and Luke (several times in the book of Acts).2, 4, 16 Some of those who practiced sorcery, when they became followers of Jesus Christ burned their occult books.16 These days, however, many Christians are actually promoting these books to other believers, and finding "Christian" analogies and even the "Gospel" story in it. The problem is that the "good" guys in Harry Potter are relying upon magic and sorcery instead of God for their power. The Bible states emphatically that doing evil to accomplish good ends is not acceptable.17
I have heard from many Christians that the Harry Potter series is fantasy, and so it is okay to indulge in it, since it isn't "real" witchcraft. The problem that we Christians have is that we have believed the Disney lie that witchcraft is okay, or maybe just a minor sin. We have been indoctrinated by the years of slow introduction through the culture and videos into believing that it is okay to indulge in this stuff as long as we don't actually participate in it personally.
However, the Harry Potter stories take place in the fantasy land of Great Britain. Most would agree that this is a real place. Are all things that are classified as fantasy okay for a Christian to indulge in? Is it okay to play video games where the object is to murder everybody in sight, with blood and body parts flying everywhere? Is it okay for a Christian to read trashy novels where everybody is engaged in adulterous, incestuous or bisexual activities? It is fantasy after all, so it must be okay to read these things? The fallacy of the fantasy excuse becomes apparent when we discuss areas of sin that are still considered sinful by the culture to which we have become acclimated.
Other Christian writers, such as C. S. Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia, have used fantasy and magic. The difference between C. S. Lewis and Harry Potter is the source of the power. In The Chronicles of Narnia, the source of the power is Aslan - the Lion representation of Jesus Christ. In Harry Potter, the source of power is unknown, but available to those who wants to us it.
